Saving Western Culture one truth at a time

Honoring D-Day

On June 6th, 1944 seventy thousand young American men eagerly confronted a finely tuned Nazi war machine on the blood-soaked sands of Normandy. The young warriors leaped from their boats, facing down the searing hot burst of German bullets.

Over 2500 of our fellow Americans drew their last breath that day, tens of thousands said farewell to their brothers, surviving to tell their grandchildren of the victory, sparing them the vile carnage.

World leaders pay a solemn tribute to veterans to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day

“The greatest generation” is a phrase attached to those living thru the Great Depression or of those that served in WW2; if my grandfather is any indicator as to the validity of those words then they indubitably ring true.

My grandfather served in the Pacific Theater, on Okinawa to be exact. He never described any of the details surrounding his service there, but I couldn’t help but pry the details from him. My grandfather never spoke an ill word about any of his fellow servicemen, although there had to have been some complete bozos even in the greatest generation.

My grandfather passed away in 2017, but I know he would have been proud to honor the 75th anniversary. It’s hard to wrap my head around anyone being able to replicate the feats of his generation or even being able to match his genuine character, including me.
